Alex Duncan casts at St Nicholas’ Chapel

What a beautiful morning in Ilfracombe today (when it wasn’t raining), the Ilfra Expo team were up early this morning making a special visit to St Nicholas’ Chapel before opening hours. Alex Duncan has been researching the Chapel, Ilfracombe and our amazing coastline developing new ideas specifically for this location. Today he has been making alginate casts of the old stone fonts inside the chapel.

The process Alex uses is ph neutral and wont cause any damage to the fonts – in fact it’s the same stuff they use to make casts of peoples mouths at the dentist!
